Fans eager for more Xenomorph action won’t have to wait much longer for production to begin on the next chapter of Alien: Earth.
According to series creator Noah Hawley, filming on Alien: Earth Season 2 is set to begin this summer in London. The update comes after FX officially renewed the hit sci-fi horror series following its successful first season.
Speaking about the progress of the new season, Hawley revealed:
“We start shooting this summer.”
The showrunner also noted that the creative team is currently in the final stages of preparation before cameras begin rolling.
The first season of Alien: Earth expanded the iconic franchise by bringing the horror closer to home than ever before. Set two years before Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic Alien, the series follows a group of soldiers and survivors who encounter terrifying extraterrestrial threats after a mysterious spacecraft crashes on Earth.
While plot details for Season 2 remain under wraps, the new season is expected to continue the fallout from the explosive Season 1 finale. Recent reports have also revealed that Emmy winner Peter Dinklage has joined the cast as a series regular.
With production beginning this summer and filming taking place in London, fans can likely expect Alien: Earth Season 2 to arrive sometime in 2027.
