🌿 Wisdom for Today
Living in the Now

Reflection
Wow — February is already here.
Wow — February is already here.
With all the chaos out there, it feels like a good time to return to something simple: Living in the Now.
I noticed it this week after doing a presentation in a meeting.
Afterwards, my mind immediately started chirping away:
“You should have said this…”
“You went into too much detail…”
“You could have done that better…”
The old inner critic.
So, I stopped, took a breath, and said quietly:
“I did my best. What’s done is done. Relax Alan. Trust the process.”
And just like that, the tension softened.

Last week, I spent time with my 1-year-old grandson.
Watching him was like watching pure presence.
Toy to toy.
Moment to moment.
Fully engaged.
No replay.
No worry.
Just now.

It reminded me of years ago in Australia, when I took Margaret’s granddaughter to an amusement park.
At the time, I was juggling projects and responsibilities — mentally everywhere except there.
Maitreya gently counseled me:
Relax.
Watch her.
She would run to a ride, give it her complete focus, finish, then instantly let it go and run fully into the next experience.
No past.
No future.
Just this ride.
That was the teaching.
And it still is.
Life is simply one ride at a time.

And to put frosting on the cake, starting next week I’ll be spending three weeks with my 3-week-old and 22-month-old granddaughters.
I think the Universe is clearly driving home the point about living in the Now and Trusting the Process. 😊

Maitreya Quote
“Life is not happening yesterday or tomorrow.
It is happening only where your feet are standing now.
When you learn to stay there, peace returns.”

Maitreya
I wish to talk with you today about living in the present moment.
Many of you believe the world feels chaotic because of outer events.
But most of the noise you experience is not outside you.
It is inside the mind.
The mind replays what has already happened
and rehearses what may never happen.
In doing this, it steals the only moment that is real — now.
After you speak or act, the mind will criticize.
It will say you should have done more, said less, explained better.
But the moment is already complete.
Once something is finished, it belongs to the past.
There is nothing to fix.
There is only the next step.
Do your best.
Learn what you can.
Then release it.
Peace comes not from perfection,
but from acceptance of the present moment.

A Simple Practice for Today
After finishing any task:
Pause.
Take one breath.
Say: “It is complete. I move forward.”
Then direct your full attention to what is next.

Sister Aurora
Children live this way because they have not yet learned to carry yesterday.
Let yourself be lighter.
You do not need to hold every moment so tightly.
Trust the flow.
You are exactly where you need to be.

Closing Thought
The past is finished.
The future is not here.
Peace lives only in the present step.
Be aware.
Be gentle with yourself.
Walk forward.
