J.K. Simmons Reveals He Has Still Never Met Tom Holland

J.K. Simmons may be one of the most iconic actors in Spider-Man history, but somehow, he still has not met the franchise’s current Peter Parker.

During an appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Simmons was asked if he had ever shared a scene with Tom Holland. The actor made it clear that the two have still never crossed paths.

“Not met Tom Holland.”

When Horowitz followed up by asking, “You literally have never met Tom Holland?” Simmons replied:

“No. No, no. Delightful guy, I’m told.”

It is a surprising bit of Marvel trivia, especially since Simmons returned as J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, his scenes in the Holland-era films were largely handled separately, with Jameson appearing through news broadcasts and Daily Bugle segments rather than face-to-face moments with Peter Parker.

Simmons originally made the role famous in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy opposite Tobey Maguire, where his fast-talking, Spider-Man-hating newspaper boss became one of the most beloved comic book movie performances of all time. His MCU return was a major surprise for fans, but it apparently still has not led to an actual meeting with Holland.

With Spider-Man: Brand New Day on the way, fans will likely continue hoping Simmons gets another chance to return as Jameson. And maybe this time, he will finally get to meet Tom Holland.
