Andy Burnham stepped up to be PM at circa 12.10 pm today. That gives a flag-waving, confident, enthusiastic, caring Sun Jupiter in the 10th. Sun Jupiter oppose Pluto which is tied into the mini Grand Trine of Uranus and Neptune – perhaps hinting at recklessness, brashness, a tendency to cut across niceties or ignore regulations. Pluto in the 4th hints at a mutinous domestic situation.
A 1st house nurturing, though an indecisive or wanting-to-be-all-things-to-all-people Libra Moon opposes Saturn in the 7th square a retrograde Mercury conjunct the Midheaven. Which suggests communication glitches, a difficulty in getting understandable policies across as well as a tendency to speak before thinking through plans and trying to do too much too quickly. Saturn in the 7th = relationships require hard work.
Chiron and Eris, planet of discord, plus Saturn in the 7th point to relationships both internal and external being a key area of difficulty. The 5th house North Node suggests a head-in-the-clouds and building-castles-in-the-air attitude. A focal point Mutable Uranus can be overly excitable, outspoken, and pushing through changes and innovations in a scattergun way.
Argumentative Mars in Gemini in the international 9th house is square Venus, trine Moon and sextile Saturn – so less upbeat for global affairs than in Starmer’s government chart which has Jupiter in the 9th – hence his focus on abroad. That chart also had a Cancer Sun in the 10th plus Moon and Venus. The Sun Venus were trine a 6th house Saturn sextile Mars (Uranus) in the 8th – employment difficulties with financial challenges were marked. The 7th house of relationships also had Chiron, Eris and Neptune on the cusp – so floundering around trying to sort relationship glitches.
That early chart still holds good though Burnham’s PM chart has less emphasis on business finances.
It remains to be seen how it will pan out.
I am intrigued by tr Saturn sitting on top of the UK 7th house North Node in Aries at the moment which Burnham’s government keys into. The hard work required to find a balance between independence (Aries) and interdependence (7th house) will be a key test.
ADD ON: Burnham’s relationship chart with Trump points to outright dislike with a composite Mars square Pluto and Mars conjunct Saturn – which will be rattled and undermined through this year and next. Though with a composite yod onto an apex Sun there is a suggestion of a fated duo whose individual destinies will be affected by the other.

The chart pretty much echoes Friday’s leadership chart. The main difference is that the Moon has moved to Libra in the 1st House opposing the transiting 7th House Saturn in Aries and forming a T-Square to retrograde Mercury at the mid heaven. The fact the Moon in Libra to Saturn in Aries aspects lie on the North/South Node of the U.K. 1801 chart looks very significant. The Moon on the South Node suggests the U.K. people as a whole have a need for peace, equity, harmony and compromise. The issue is that can pursuit of that goal lead to excessive people pleasing which in turn can result in the negation of self and the loss of identity. Saturn on the North Node is signalling this danger and stating the process needs to have limits for future positive evolution to take place. The fact the 7th House is involved indicates that the slow and methodical building of relationships with well defined boundaries and clearly understood reciprocal responsibilities is the way forward. The process is not going to be easy as Mercury retrograde suggests missteps, misunderstanding and the need to revisit difficult issues will be problematic. What may help is that the Moon is trine Mars which in turn Sextile’s Saturn so that communication will probably be a lot easier and more productive than under Starmer though it is going to require patience and hard work. The main challenge to Burnham is probably not this chart but the fact his government is still operating under the ill starred aspects that brought Labour to power on 5th July 2024.

It occurred to me when listening to Burnham talk about less centralisation and more devolution of power that this fits nicely with the Uranus in Gemini period we’ve just entered (independence locally).
Maybe also Pluto in Aquarius (power to the people). Which reminds that the Blair government started devolution when Uranus and Neptune were in Aquarius.

I don’t like the look of Saturn opposition the Moon (the people), or square Mercury conjunct MC. It’s seems a bit ‘all mouth and no trousers’. But I hope I’m wrong and some good will come out of it, for Britain’s sake.

The moon is at least separating from its aspect with Saturn; it is however heading for a square with retrograde Mercury – both at 16 degrees. But then again no chart is ever perfect

Yes, that it is separating from Saturn is a little more hopeful, but then as you say it squares Mercury (12th and 9th) and the Sun (11th) in the 10th, probably the most important house for a PM.
