Sadie Sink Likes “The Idea Of Never Doing Anything” Cosmetic to Her Body

In an industry that runs on reinvention, Sadie Sink is betting on staying exactly as she is, and treating her unaltered body as a professional advantage.

The 24-year-old has kept her body completely unaltered on purpose, treating herself like a canvas she’d rather leave clean. Staying a “blank slate,” she says, means every temporary change she makes for a role stays temporary.

Sadie Sink has never dyed her natural red hair, relying on wigs whenever a role calls for a different look. And the reasoning she gave in her November 2025 Glamour cover interview goes deeper than aesthetics.

“There’s something nice about the blank-slate-ness of it,” she said. A body with no permanent marks or holes gives her more flexibility as a performer, because anything she alters for a character never has to be covered up or explained away later.

She also pushed back on the pressure actors face to constantly reinvent themselves. Watching peers and older actors change their appearance so often left her wondering, “Are we all supposed to look like this? Is this what everyone wants us to look like? I don’t want to do that.”

Sink, who played Max Mayfield on “Stranger Things” and now plays Jean Grey in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” has held the same position ever since, with no reversal in any later interview.
