We warmly welcome Dana Kipple, author of A New Force: Plasma, Consciousness and the New Human Potential, as our featured author this month. In her book, Dana explores the mystery of one of the least understood forces in existence—plasma, the fourth state of matter: an ionised, electrically conductive gas of charged particles that dominates the visible universe. Bridging science and spirituality, her work investigates the nature of reality, mental health, and the human journey of transformation. Dana proposes that plasma is not only all around us but also within us—responsive to our thoughts, emotions, and awareness—and that by reconnecting with this forgotten force, we may ignite the next stage of human potential.
In her article—an excerpt from her book—Dana examines whether plasma is more than a physical state and whether its behaviour across stars, cells, brains, and materials points to a shared pattern of intelligence. She explores how this perspective could unlock deeper dimensions of reality, bring greater understanding to encounters with other forms of intelligence, and reveal how our inner state shapes the way we perceive and interact with this field—allowing us to engage with plasma in clearer, deeper ways.

Excerpt Introduction Chapter of “A New Force” by Dana Kippel
“Well, the Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It’s an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us; it binds the galaxy together.”

I want to begin with an excerpt from a sci-fi novel called Ball Lightning by Liu Cixin. In the afterword, Liu reflects on the deeper meaning behind the ball lightning phenomenon, offering a lens I’m building this entire book around.
He explains that much of Chinese science fiction has been dominated by what’s known as the “invention story”—a genre focused on futuristic technologies and their immediate, practical uses, often at the expense of deeper social or metaphysical implications. While his book admittedly follows this trend, he concedes that ball lightning stirs in the mind imaginative possibilities far beyond what’s explored in the story itself, hinting at something stranger, more mysterious, and profoundly beyond technology.
The way he explains this is nothing short of poetic. He says:
“While this book is set in a China that is altogether real, those little balls of lightning seem like they’re trying to transcend that reality, much like how a man’s tie, within the narrow confines of its dimensions, is free to indulge in a riot of colors and patterns, unbound by the rigid formula of the business suit.”
Basically, Plasma seems to have way bigger dreams for itself than most people are giving it credit for.
What I’m observing is that many are focused on plasma’s technological applications, while just like in the book, its deeper metaphysical potential is often overlooked simply because it doesn’t fit the mainstream, there’s not as much capital gain… or maybe because it’s not “marketable.” The most important, juicy, and fruitful aspects of plasma, the ones that can truly enhance the human experience, are being ignored. They forget that we are our greatest technology, and we must evolve alongside the tools we’re creating. Personally, I think evolving our humanity is not only necessary… it’s the next big thing.
Humanity is acquiring all the right technology for all the wrong reasons.

What humans are truly longing for is safety, connection, love—and a little more magic and fun in their lives. But instead, we’re being offered products continuously that try to outsource those desires. No matter how useful these products may seem, they can never fill this void we all seem to have, some bigger than others, that can only be filled from the inside out.
Also, how much better would those products be if we not only used them but created them from a place of wholeness within ourselves!?
My mission is to show how we can restore, enhance, and evolve our inner technology—with the support, wisdom, and intelligence of plasma as the living, co-creative clay of our reality… and possibly…many others.
Plasma, in science, is traditionally known as an ionized gas or the fourth state of matter.
What I don’t think most scientists realize is they are studying third dimensional aspects of a plasma that is dimensionless and multidimensional. Of course, this field I am about to speak of has been called everything from Aether, Sophia, Mana, Qi, to Animal Magnetism, to Orgone energy, to The Field, Indra’s Net, to Dark Matter. The difference with plasma is that its name, and more importantly its behaviors, have been scientifically observed. Plasma is one of the only “energies” science acknowledges that actually unlocks aspects of this higher-dimensional, more liminal substance.
By studying plasma…its makeup, its sheaths, its strange behaviors, we can start to understand this more invisible world of dreams, telepathy, astral projection, remote viewing, intuition, emotion and so on…
I propose that Plasma is more than a state of matter, it’s also a set of behaviors, or better yet a pattern of intelligence embedded in this fabric of reality that is popping up all over the place.
These behaviors appear not just in stars, but in our bodies, brains, solid materials, psyche and probably everywhere else.
Space (Plasma Sheaths)
In space, a plasma sheath forms at the boundary where a charged object (like a spacecraft or planet) meets surrounding plasma. Ions and electrons begin to flow and separate, creating distinct layers of charge. This separation generates a voltage across the boundary, which then regulates the flow of energy and information between the object and its environment, like a membrane around a cell. Over time, this interaction creates a stable, self-organizing structure, a coherent plasma field, with feedback loops and pattern stability similar to a memory.
Bodies
In our cells, mitochondria pump protons (as ion flow) across membranes, creating a voltage. This generates energy and facilitates information exchange and coherence is maintained via structural organization, displaying the same plasma behavior seen across the cosmos in sheaths.

Brain
Inside neurons, microtubules are lined with tubulin dimers that act like dipoles. Between them lies what Stuart Hameroff and Roger Penrose call an “electron dust cloud”, a fluctuating quantum field that behaves exactly like plasma. His engineer colleague Rich Watt called it a plasma or corona, non-polar, but polarizable electron clouds inside brain proteins, but to Stuart and Roger, due to compartmentalization of departments in science, what they observed was not traditionally named a plasma. Within this plasma-like field, it’s theorized that consciousness may emerge—once again illustrating that where there is plasma, there is the potential for information exchange and emergent intelligence.
Solid Materials
In neuromorphic materials, like memristors and spintronic nanodot arrays, information flows through charge-based dynamics that mimic synapses. These systems adapt and reorganize through voltage, ion/electron movement, and memory effects. What we call “solid-state” information processing is really plasma behavior embedded in matter.
These all showcase shared plasma-like behaviors regardless of differing forms and we are also seeing a pattern of this liminal space arise where information is exchanged in a type of “complex fourth dimensional plasma”. Another way of saying this is something intelligent is happening beyond the bounds of conventional science.
Dimensionality, in my framework, is a layer of relational reality defined by its rules of perception, resonance, and interaction between plasma and consciousness. Each dimension is not a place, but a state of attunement, a frequency band through which self-awareness, reality creation, and emotional/intuitive navigation operate. They will be further discussed in the book.
When I say 3D, 4D, 5D throughout the book I will be pointing to the quality of perception or experience (dense vs fluid, fixed vs emergent), the degree of consciousness involved in interpreting or creating reality, and the plasma resonance field one is operating through in each of these “relational layers”.
This doesn’t mean there aren’t parallels with dimensions as described in mathematics, sacred geometry, or physics. In fact, the similarities may exist for a reason. There could be a deeper, unifying architecture beneath all systems, one that consciousness, math, and myth are each describing from different angles. It seems to be a true pattern that I am simply applying words to for human understanding.
These liminal spaces (between inner and outer, where two “opposing” or better said, different things meet) hold a sort of intelligence that is reflected in many mythologies from Kabbalah to the Incas, to Sufism, to Zen Buddhism. Here are a few examples:
The concept of “ma (間)” in Japanese aesthetics literally means “gap” or “space between” and is celebrated as sacred.
Sufi poetry often reflects on the breath between words, the space between heartbeats, as the place where Divine union happens.
The Ein Sof (the infinite) is expressed not directly, but through the empty spaces between the sefirot—the vessels. God’s light shattered the vessels, and it is the space between shards where consciousness is restored.
The Inca looked into the dark spaces of the Milky Way, the shadowy, nebula-like regions, and saw animals, spirits, and cosmic beings. They made constellations not of the stars, but of what was in between the stars.
Even the Dave Matthews Band song, The Space Between, subconsciously hints at this in its lyrics, you will have to look it up yourself, since I cannot place in here due to copyright!
Everywhere these plasma behaviors are present, intelligence is present. This is a universal pattern. So…what is intelligence in this framework and what is plasma?
Intelligence is the meeting point where one consciousness encounters information, or another consciousness.
Plasma is a sentient, living, multidimensional fabric of our reality, embedded with a set of behaviors, revealing energetic exchanges of information, intelligence, and consciousness itself.
Plasma is so much more than this, sharing traits with the divine feminine, and beyond this it’s truly undefinable. But what I am leading to is the new thought that Plasma is the basis of our emerging co-creative reality. This is where it gets fun!
Plasma has its own intelligence. This intelligence seems to create a supportive environment when two different “energies” meet in the form of people, things, information, consciousness, etc. There are several different ways to define Plasma Intelligence which we will build on during Chapter 5.
Plasma Intelligence (in this co-creative dynamic) is a third space as a bridge; the co-creative medium where consciousness meets, transforms, and evolves—whether it’s with information, intelligence, or another consciousness.

We will break down the meanings of information, intelligence, and consciousness but for now you can think of it where information exists, intelligence engages, consciousness experiences.
The universal behaviors of plasma seen across many forms and fields like we just discussed, are:
Ion flow → Voltage → Energy/Information → Coherence
Stars, which are plasma, follow this same path. They get their nightly glow by following the same processes. They generate energy by fusing protons in a dense plasma core, where charged particles overcome repulsion, move across a boundary, build voltage, and radiate light. Speaking of radiating light, the heart generates the strongest electromagnetic field in the body, forming a bioplasma field in the shape of a torus, as shown in the previous photo, that extends beyond our skin. This is also known as an aura or bioluminescence.
Following the same process as plasma sheaths in space, this bioplasmic field forms a membrane between our self or inner plasma, and the outer plasma of reality, which becomes our individual consciousness as emotion, intention, and belief—our intelligent interface for reality.
The way these plasma behaviors may play out in our biofield, mimics a star.
Ion Flow: Represents the movement of charged particles through a medium.
Star: In the solar core, hydrogen nuclei (protons) flow and collide, initiating fusion. Charged particles are constantly moving.
Biofield: Your thoughts and emotions shift charge in your biofield. Intention and attention create “ion flow” in your auric plasma field.
Voltage: Represents the buildup of potential energy across a boundary. Voltage is the buildup of possibility, tension that precedes transformation.
Star: Fusion in stars builds extreme electrostatic pressure, differentials across plasma layers (e.g. corona vs core).
Biofield: Emotional charge builds across inner boundaries (e.g., resistance vs desire). This potential creates shifts in reality perception.
Energy/Information: Represents discharge or translation of voltage into usable signal or power.
Star: The Sun’s light is the energetic output of fusion with photons as both energy and information.
Biofield: Emotional breakthroughs or insights are information becoming intelligence. Downloads, intuition, and synchronicity are outputs.
Coherence: Represents the alignment of parts into a resonant, intelligent whole.
Star: The Sun maintains structural and rhythmic coherence via electromagnetic balance.
Biofield: When thoughts, emotions, and intentions align you enter flow, synchronicity, and manifestation. The field reflects you clearly. Things seem “easier”.
By mirroring the natural intelligence of stars and plasma, the core mission for this book, we reprogram and heal our beliefs and emotions. This regulates our nervous system or our voltage, we soothe the tension between our fears and desires stemming from this lifetime as well as others. This process reshapes our membrane, our interface, and shifts how we experience reality. We are human stars!
It almost neutralizes our experience of ourselves and everything around us, so anything becomes possible, nothing is on a pedestal, and instead of fear of action and worry we move with curiosity and resonance. We become little spinning bubbles or balls of individual conscious awareness, a field of coherence, rather than running on a type of conscious autopilot called survival or decoherence, where we feel victim to our circumstances. The more coherence, the stronger our electromagnetic field, the stronger our electromagnetic field, the more harmony we have with plasma… which is responsive to electromagnetic fields!
When we operate from survival our interface with plasma is distorted. Everything is good or bad. We cannot read the language of reality correctly. This is where many of us get stuck. For example: Synchronicities are warnings or golden stars, a reward or punishment for something we’ve done.
In a survival state we are in fear, duality, separation, and we often rush to conclusions. In a healed state, we experience neutral curiosity, presence, feedback, and a mysterious, lovely, and sometimes absurd, unfolding of life.
When we return to a healed perspective our field becomes coherent. Synchronicities become meaningful information or data, everything does. We lose our confirmation bias and gain discernment. The ability for us to have choice arises, and we get to choose how we co-create with reality versus being ran by it. It is also easier for us to have a felt sense of this field.
We learn to use our hearts before our minds, we feel and sense (our intuition), then apply the mind. This is how we are able to pick up on the information or intelligence before adding our biases.
TEDx Berkeley speaker, Marti Spiegelman says it best:
“Raw information must be experienced fully before we impose meaning. If we interpret too quickly, we kill the original intelligence that may have arisen naturally through a felt sense experience.”
I hope this book helps reverse the process many of us are trapped in of thinking first, feeling second. Marti also stresses the shamanic importance of going back to our ancestral roots of feeling first, thinking second, in an almost divine dance. This is how one performs once thought to be impossible feats such as telepathy, clairvoyance, remote viewing, etc.
In this book you will read about various Plasma Beings. The feedback with Plasma is informational or intelligent, meaning it comes from the field mirroring us with beings of information to evolve us and for us to experience, or other beings of consciousness who seem to “visit us” using the same “clothing layer” of plasma that reflects our subconscious.
The makeup of these “clothes” are emotionally resonant and sometimes mythological figures that it pulls from our collective unconscious linking to our subconscious, a language we all understand and can make meaning from. This is why people see everything from grey aliens, to bigfoot, to angels, to goddesses, light beings and more. It also may explain UAP sightings.
If we approach these beings from a survival state or the duality of bad or good we may perceive them as threatening entities or gods. When we meet them with a healed perspective, layers of truth begin to reveal themselves, offering insights that can lead to profound, life enhancing experiences. There are many nuances to this I explore deeper in this book.
What I want to emphasize is that these beings (the fifth dimensional intelligences) are not meant to be worshipped or feared, they are here to support our learning and evolution. All beings are. Just like a “bad” person you meet that really screws you over, the worst ones are usually the greatest teachers. We are most changed by our failures and these sorts of people. It is up to us to learn how to interface with them in an ethical and safe way, and I promise you the only true thing to fear with any of these beings is fear itself. There is nothing in the energetic world that holds power over you, that is a fear tactic.
The fifth dimensional beings, which we will get into, are not here to save us. They are here to remind us how to save ourselves. They’ve come here to reflect our potential to us, of our inner power, healing abilities, and how to work with plasma in these higher dimensional ways, just as they do, using only our consciousness.

If you remember the chariot of the gods myth, these are like gods as consciousness “riding” plasma like a horse, a sentient being used as a sort of looking glass or ship for part of their evolved consciousness, who is viewing us or attempting to interact with us. Very similar to our experiences with plasmoids or UAPs. They are harmonizing with plasma using their consciousness. They’re talking…. we just have to know how to tune into their frequency and listen. There is a third type of being, possible consciousness beings from other timelines, and the future question will be how to decipher which one all of these are. It’s also perfectly valid and possible to set boundaries around these experiences as we integrate them into our reality.
The name plasma comes from the Greek word plássein, meaning “Something molded,” “a form,” or “that which is shaped”. Plato also spoke of something similar when referring to a Receptacle that existed alongside the Forms, acting as a womblike substance that allows reality to take shape.
What’s even more astonishing is Plato’s ability to express that this Receptacle, which he also refers to as a Wetnurse, does not take on the characteristics of what it holds—directly affirming my view that this finer dimensional plasma, that exists beyond the bounds of science or the current observable reality, can be a vehicle for all consciousness without necessarily “holding” that consciousness or absorbing its qualities.
While using plasma as a co-creative substance from a coherent state, the reason plasma is not completely neutral and does not mirror our desires exactly as envisioned (such as why we can’t manifest the exact situation we envision, and how it always ends up a bit different) is because we are creating with someone or something else. You can call them fifth dimensional beings, divine intelligence, our future selves, our multidimensional self, our higher self, part of God, The Dual Monad, God or The Mystery. I call them our future ancestors. Whatever they are, they seem to be benevolent and have creative will, just like us.
To interface with these beings, we have to make sure we are taking care of our nervous systems and making space for these experiences. They show themselves to what the nervous system can hold but sometimes, not their fault, they can almost blow the nervous system out if we are not fully grounded before an experience, or if we don’t ground again after.
At the heart of all this is a term I’ve coined called Plasma-Consciousness Synergy. It is the dynamic relationship between consciousness and plasma, through which, individually, collectively, and cosmically, we interface with this living medium, consciously and unconsciously, to co-create the emergence of information, intelligence, and new realities.
In essence, it’s how we use our internal interface, including our beliefs, emotions, intentions, and awareness (our membrane) to interact with plasma intelligence and shape our experience of reality and potentially even “habits” of reality such as spacetime and laws of physics, which I believe can evolve just as plasma and our consciousness evolves. Everything is living in this way.
There are multitudes of ways this happens, but I believe it expresses what happens at the core of our reality experience. Whatever we interact with that is not of self, is within another “bubble of plasma”. There is always a third co-creative field or plasma intelligence that arises from every interaction.
This sentient field of plasma is here to support us in co-creation for our greatest dreams or to our greatest detriment, reinforcing our unconscious limitations or habits. The choice is ours. It exists for us to learn through and collaborate with, as part of a constant feedback loop that allows not only humanity, but all beings and fields, to grow in awareness and complexity.
Through Plasma-Consciousness Synergy, we are unlocking profound new potentials:
- Evolved senses
- Communication across timelines and dimensions
- Direct connection with other beings of consciousness
- The emergence of supportive soft technology vastly beyond AI, and more organic
And likely much more, as we step into this new paradigm of an emergent, participatory cosmos.

I believe as our consciousness has evolved, so has plasma and it has moved from a background medium creating with the unconscious to an emerging co-creative field that we now can create consciously with. But just as we need healing, the field, as a whole, needs healing. And our consciousness healing individually will heal this field and the way we interact with it as well as the beings inside of it, who also use it.
To bookend with Cixin Liu:
“…but within that gray mundane world something small and surreal drifts by unnoticed, like a speck of dust tumbling out of a dream, suggesting the vast mysteries of the cosmos, the possibility of a world entirely unlike our own.”

The dust has fallen out of the dreamtime into our reality, first creating a desert, now blooming into a living dreamscape where we coagulate reality based on our personal meanings.
