DEVELOPING: Amazon Boeing Plane Bursts Into Flames After it Overshoots Runway at Miami International Airport (VIDEO)

An Amazon Boeing 767 plane overshot the runway at Miami International Airport and burst into flames on Sunday.

The cargo plane departed Puerto Rico and crashed as it landed at Miami International Airport around 2 pm ET.

The plane hit vehicles, forcing a ground stop.

“21 Air Flight 7598 overran the runway after landing at Miami International Airport around 2 p.m. local time on Sunday, Sept. 6. The Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico,” the FAA said.

“The FAA will investigate. Contact the airline for additional information,” the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The Air Traffic Control System Command Center issued a ground stop.

All runways and taxiways at Miami International Airport are closed.

There are unconfirmed reports of multiple fatalities and severe injuries. It is unclear if the fatalities include flight crew, any passengers, or people on the ground.

Thick black smoke was seen billowing up from the crashed aircraft as first responders rushed to the scene.
