PlayStation is going back to where it all began, this time one brick at a time.
Sony Interactive Entertainment and the LEGO Group have officially revealed the first-ever LEGO PlayStation, a detailed recreation of the original PlayStation console and controller that celebrates more than 30 years of the iconic gaming brand.
Revealed during PlayStation’s latest State of Play presentation, the new collector’s set features 1,911 pieces and recreates the unmistakable gray console that helped change the gaming industry after its original debut in 1994.
The finished LEGO console is built at nearly 1:1 scale, measuring approximately 10.5 inches wide, and includes a brick-built recreation of the original PlayStation controller.
But LEGO and PlayStation went considerably further than simply recreating the outside of the console.
The set includes several interactive details, including functioning Power and Open buttons, while the LEGO controller can actually be plugged into the console. Builders will also discover hidden references to PlayStation history throughout the build.

Two classic PlayStation franchises also get their own miniature tributes inside the set: Gran Turismo and Ape Escape.
The Gran Turismo section features a miniature racetrack complete with tiny cars, while the Ape Escape diorama recreates an island scene and includes a monkey with interchangeable red and blue helmet lights. Both dioramas can also be removed from the console and displayed separately.
The collaboration marks another major gaming-inspired release from LEGO, but the original PlayStation is particularly suited for the collectible treatment. Its gray design, disc lid, physical buttons and original controller have become some of the most recognizable pieces of hardware from the early era of 3D console gaming.
The LEGO PlayStation launches October 1, 2026 through PlayStation Direct in the United States and several European markets. LEGO Insiders will also receive early access beginning October 1, with the set becoming widely available through LEGO.com and LEGO Stores on October 4.
The set carries a suggested retail price of $179.99 in the United States.
For longtime PlayStation fans who remember booting up the original console, the LEGO PlayStation looks less like a traditional toy and more like a display piece built around three decades of gaming nostalgia.
