New Apple CEO John Ternus shares mystery teaser video on X as Apple Event looms

With hours to go before Apple’s “Surprise and shine” event on Wednesday, new Apple CEO John Ternus took to X/Twitter to share a short teaser video.

Within an hour, the video had already been viewed more than 1.1 million times by X users, and Apple fans are speculating wildly about what it could mean. We’ll know for sure later today, as the September Apple event livestream is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET later today.

The short video clip shows a bright beam of light shining down on what appears to be a camera lens. That could point to the rumored iPhone 18 Pro Max camera upgrades, which include a variable aperture.

However, considering that the tagline for the event is literally “Surprise and shine,” it’s always possible that Ternus is teasing something totally unexpected, like a Vision Pro 2 or Apple’s long-rumored smart glasses.
