August is completed. It was a month that reminded us of the fragility of life. People all over the world have been touched by tragedy, and experienced the loss of loved ones.
Here in my country, we are mourning the passing of a beloved monarch, King Harald, at the age of 89. He passed away in the early hours of Friday, during the lunar eclipse. In the following days, the impact he has had on the people of Norway has become very visible. He was a loving and compassionate man, caring deeply for his people, especially for those in need.
Every day, thousands gather in front of the Royal Palace here in Oslo to pay their respects. It is a very touching experience to be there, an atmosphere of quiet dignity and deep gratitude. But most of all, it gives you a sense of connectedness and community, of feeling the bond that is between us all. It is as if through the passing of this one man, we see ourselves – and each other – more clearly.
This Sunday, September 6, at 20:00 our time (UTC+2) we invite you to join us in spirit for our September Gathering in Grace. Let us come together and BE in that “full vibrancy of life that can only be experienced through love”, and let us make that love flow out into this world. It is much needed.
